PhD Position in correlated NMR/MRI at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology

The Institute of Microstructure Technology at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) seeks applicants for a PhD candidate position (3 years duration) starting as soon as possible. The research focus is to obtain metabolically relevant information from a freely moving organism by localised NMR analysis through the correlation of position information, obtained via microscope optics, with the NMR experiment.

Your job
- hardware integration of NMR detection optical microscopy in a probehead, together with experimental control
- methodological developments for NMR/MRI measurements
- experimental validation for small organism studies

Your profile
- MSc degree in the engineering or natural sciences
- background in NMR/MRI is desirable
- strong motivation for interdisciplinary work
