Postdoc in Toulouse

Postdoctoral position in peptide-based catalyst design, Toulouse (France) –
Deadline September 2019

The Toulouse Biotechnology Institute (TBI, formerly the LISBP) in Toulouse, France, is looking for a highly motivated Post-Doc candidate to work on an ANR-funded project aiming at developing artificial peptide-based catalysts, and more specifically protein assemblies that will adopt an amyloid fold into host organo-metallic catalyst.
The aim is to develop novel hybrid catalysts in collaboration with inorganic chemists from the LCC and ITAV in Toulouse. The candidate will be more particularly in charge of producing (expression and purification) the protein fragments, designing and constructing novel mutants, and participating to the biophysical characterization of the resulting amyloid scaffolds.
We are thus looking for a highly motivated scientist who has research background and expertise in biology (peptide/protein production/purification/mutagenesis), biophysical techniques (structural characterization of amyloids and if possible computational structural biology).
The candidate will work in the stimulating multidisciplinaryenvironment of the TBI(, with access to a number of state-of-the-art technological platforms of protein expression (PICT-ICEO) and biophysical platforms including NMR spectrometers ranging from 500 to 800 MHz, equipped with a cryogenic probe head and a sample jets.He/She will also have access to molecular modelling and computing facilities.

Duration of the contract:18 months (with possibility of extension)
Starting date:October 1st, 2019 but with some flexibility
Location:TBI (Formely LISBP), Toulouse, France
