Postdoctoral position in high-pressure solid-state NMR

The Division of Science at New York University Abu Dhabi is inviting applications for a fully-funded postdoctoral associate position in the area of High-Pressure Solid-State NMR in the group of Dr Maria Baias (

The research project involves the development of new instrumentation for performing solid-state NMR experiments at high pressures with the purpose of studying high-pressure induced phase transitions in materials. The successful candidate will focus on designing an instrumental set-up that allows for performing solid-state NMR experiments under magic angle spinning, implementing the design into the experimental setup and applying it to study different materials under high pressures.

Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Physics, Chemistry, or a related field and must have strong experience in experimental solid-state NMR and the electronics associated with NMR. Expertise in materials science is desired. Excellent communication skills in English, ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and scientific creativity are essential.
