About the BIOmics Center:BIOmics is a pseudonym for proteomics, functional genomics and bioinformatics taken together, where Proteomics is the study of protein properties on a large scale to obtain a global, integrated view of cellular processes; Functional genomics makes use of the vast wealth of data produced by genomic projects to describe gene and protein functions and interactions; and Bioinformatics merges biology, computer science, and information technology into a single discipline. The BIOmics Center aims to provide training and apprenticeships to scientists, technologists and students to achieve knowledge transfer and promote scientific collaborations. The Center acts in collaboration with the Israel Commission for UNESCO, the Ministry of Science & Technology, the Center of Bioinformatics Infrastructure (COBI), the Israel Structural Proteomics Center (ISPC) and the Feinberg Graduate School at the Weizmann Institute of Science.
