The American Committee’s Board of Directors convened for a two-day retreat at LOTTE New York Palace in October 2018. The retreat was themed “The Weizmann Effect: The 75th Anniversary Campaign and Beyond.”

As the organization entered the final year of its Transforming Tomorrow campaign, the retreat marked a point of transition for the American Committee family. On the first night, guests gathered for a tribute dinner in honor of CEO Emeritus Marshall Levin. The evening celebrated Marshall’s remarkable tenure with toasts from prominent lay leaders, a special video presentation, and the announcement of the Marshall S. Levin Legacy Fund for Science Education.

The following morning, Weizmann Institute President Prof. Daniel Zajfman provided an overview of key projects and current priorities at the Institute. Dave Doneson, who recently assumed the role of CEO, shared his vision for sustaining and surpassing the American Committee’s success beyond its milestone anniversary. Following presentations from various department heads, the retreat concluded with the Board’s annual meeting. Leadership from across the country came away with a shared sense of purpose and optimism for the American Committee’s future.
