Prof. Karina Yaniv visits Argentina

In November, Prof. Karina Yaniv visited the Association of Friends of the Weizmann Institute in Argentina, her country of origin, accompanied by Weizmann Latin America CEO Daniel Schmit. Dr. Yaniv gave three lectures for high school students engaged in science and technology, and two scientific seminars at the National University of Quilmes and the Institute of Biology and Experimental Medicine. At the Israeli Ambassador’s residence, she gave a presentation on the Israel National Postdoctoral Award Program for Advancing Women in Science program, with 45 women in attendance.

Dr. Yaniv also met with the President of the Argentinian Association of Friends, Dr. Hugo Sigman, his wife, Dr. Silvia Gold. In Córdoba, her hometown, she spoke with the student team that will be the first Argentine team to compete in the Shalheveth Freier International Physics Tournament run by the Davidson Institute of Science Education in March and described her research to 25 health and science professionals.
