At the Midwest Region Gala Dinner, 400 community and industry leaders came together to honor a dear friend of the Weizmann Institute and the City of Chicago, Renée Crown. Mrs. Crown has chaired this annual Weizmann celebration over the past decade, and hervision has been the driving force behindits success. Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner addressed the audience, thanking Mrs. Crown for her philanthropic work in Chicago and around the world. Notable guests also included Illinois Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky. The evening featured a conversation between gala emcee Ilyce Glink and Prof. Zelig Eshhar, Department of Immunology, who spoke about his revolutionary immunotherapy research. Capping off the night, Weizmann Institute President Prof. Daniel Zajfman and event Co-Chairs Dr. Marilyn Perlman and Brian Price presented Mrs. Crown with the American Committee’s Leadership Award
