Award ceremony and lunch for the Lopatie Fellows

Date: Wednesday, April 25, 2018

David Lopatie, a dear friend and donor to the Weizmann Institute, initiated a meeting between students at the Feinberg Graduate School who received the prestigious Lopatie Fellowship, to initiate interactions and potential scientific partnerships.

The event was hosted by Prof. Israel Bar-Joseph, Vice President of Resource Development and Public Affairs, and Prof. Irit Sagi, Dean of FGS. Dr. Ami Shalit, Academic Secretary of FGS, together with Herzl Luria (Mr. Lopatie’s representative in Israel) awarded the fellowship certificates to the students. Yael Goren-Wegman, Executive Director of the Israeli Friends, read prepared remarks by Mr. Lopatie, noting that the program was inspired by the prestigious Rhodes Scholarship Program for Advanced Studies at Oxford University.

Meni Rosenfeld, an alumnus of the Weizmann Institute and Chairman of the Israeli Bitcoin Association, discussed his personal career trajectory into the cryptocurrency business.
