In November, the Latin American Committee for the Weizmann Institute of Science invited its delegates to the 70th Annual General Meeting of the International Board to participate in an archaeological excursion to Jerusalem.

As part of the program, the group made a private visit to the tunnels of the Old City of Jerusalem, guided by Prof. Elisabetta Boaretto, who directs the Scientific Archaeology Unit at the Weizmann Institute, and Dr. Joe Uziel, a senior archaeologist at the Israel Antiquities Authorities.

During the visit, Prof. Boaretto and Dr. Uziel, who collaborate on several joint research projects, described how they are building a reliable chronology for different structures made in ancient Jerusalem, contributing to the understanding of the history of the region.
