In 2007, The Weizmann Institute of Science launched a comprehensive program designed to advance female scientists in Israel. As part of this initiative, the Israel National Postdoctoral Award Program for Advancing Women in Science was established. The program provides a service to the Israeli scientific community and is administered by Prof. Daniella Goldfarb, the President’s Advisor for Advancing Women in Science.
The awards from the Israel National Postdoctoral Program for Advancing Women in Science are offered in addition to other means of support secured by the candidates themselves. One hundred and six women scientists have been funded to date, with 10-11 women selected for awards each year. The award amount is approximately $20,000 per year for a two-year period.
