We’re hiring: Fungal Molecular Scientist
Amai is a dynamic biotech food-technology startup. Amai fixes our food system, one protein at a time, by adapting proteins to the mass food market using computational protein design followed by manufacturing via precision fermentation. We are hiring a Fungal Molecular Biology scientist to join our production team.
Job description:
- Strain development and optimization of yeast and other fungal strains for protein production.
- Design, set, and conduct protein expression screen experiments.
- Collaborate and work with outsourcing clone providers.
- Collaborate with fermentation, protein purification, formulation, and food science teams.
Requirements:
- MSc/Ph.D. in Life Sciences with a focus on microbiology and molecular biology, preferentially yeast biology.
- At least 2 years of industrial experience in developing and optimizing various microbial strains using advanced molecular biology methods - a must.
- Experience in working with protein expression systems - a must.
- Experience in molecular biology techniques such as: cloning, PCR, and construct design for different expression hosts.
- Proven record of independent work as well as work within a multidisciplinary team.
- Fluent in Hebrew and English
