Nucleix Ltd. develops, manufactures and markets innovative non-invasive molecular cancer diagnostic tests. The company’s highly sensitive and specific tests are based on the identification of subtle changes in methylation patterns. The technology is based on a combination of a new biochemical platform in conjunction with sophisticated algorithms. The company’s first product – Bladder EpiCheck is a urine-based test for monitoring of bladder cancer. We are now developing Lung EpiCheck – a blood-based test for lung screening, which will be commercialized in our San Diego CLIA lab.
Job summary:
This Data scientist will report to the VP Bioinformatics, and be responsible for leading data-related tasks including: (1) developing AI and ML strategies and algorithms for finding markers, marker panels and algorithms for future clinical tests, (2) finding and implementing better ways for visualizing data for internal and external uses, (3) ad-hoc data analyses, as required. He/she will be responsible for all steps of the projects, from their initiation, defining requirements, and throughout their implementation until completion.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Creating AI and ML strategies and algorithms for finding markers, marker panels and algorithms for future clinical tests
- Finding and implementing better ways for visualizing data for internal and external uses
- Ad-hoc data analyses, as required
- Lead the projects from their initiation, defining requirements, and throughout their implementation until completion
- Work closely with the relevant teams (all or part of the following: Software, Research, Product Development, Clinical, Quality and Regulatory) to understand the requirements of the project, and drive forward implementation
- Initiate and lead meetings on a regular basis with the project stakeholders in order to advance the project
- Update management on the status, progress and problems of the projects
- Make sure that the projects meet their requirements and deadlines
- Make sure that the projects have the required documentation
- Perform other related duties, as assigned
Minimum qualifications:
- MSc. in Computer Science / Physics / Mathematics / Engineering
- 3+ years development of Deep Learning network architecture and ML models (XGBoost, Random forest, etc.)
- Expertise in Python, TensorFlow, Keras/PyTorch, Scikit-learn
- Knowledge of cloud tools such as Amazon's AWS, Google Colab – Advantage
- Expertise in bioinformatics, NGS data and pipelines – Advantage
- An understanding with the technology of the company, and the technology required for the project
- Team player, responsible, excellent communication skills
- Ability to occasionally communicate with the Company’s international colleagues outside of the standard business hours of the Tel-Aviv office
