Research Associate / Associate Scientist (October 2020)

  • The Research Associate / Associate Scientist will report to the Associate Director in the Research and Drug Discovery group. The candidate will be responsible for supporting functional validation of immunomodulatory molecules discovered by Compugen as well as Compugen’s clinical assets. This will include in-vivo, ex-vivo, proof-of-concept studies, as well as in-vitro functional assays with primary murine cells. The candidate will be responsible for planning and conducting experiments, recording and analyzing data, and writing research reports. The candidate is expected to independently perform hands-on experimental work but also to collaborate in a multi-functional team.
     
  • Plan and execute in-vivo pharmacology studies: tumor cell preparation and inoculation, administration of medications, mice and tumor size follow-up
  • Plan and execute ex-vivo immune cell-based assays: isolate and perform multi-parameter flow cytometry analysis of immune cells ex-vivo
  • Plan and execute in-vitro experiments: perform immune functional assays in-vitro with human and mouse cells
  • Record results in laboratory notebook, prepare written reports and oral presentations in a timely manner
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely progress of research projects according to the pipeline prioritization

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • PhD in Life Sciences (preferably in immunology or related discipline) or MSc with at least 2 years of experience in the biotech industry – must
  • Strong scientific background in Immunology/ Immuno-Oncology – must
  • Previous work experience in a biotech company – advantage
  • Authorization for animal handling – must
  • Highly skilled in in-vivo mouse tumor models, as well as various methods of administration, dosing (SC, IP, IT and IV) and blood collection (RO, tail vein) – must
  • Proficiency in cell culture, multi-parametric flow cytometry – must
  • Familiarity in harvesting and disaggregating tissue/tumor for subsequent ex-vivo analysis (for single cell analysis/ other applications) – advantage
  • A quick learner, efficient in multitasking, highly organized and excellent record keeping
  • Highly motivated and results-driven individual with a passion for working in a fast-paced and evolving organization
  • Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills in English
