Research Associate/Scientist Immune Oncology (Replacement for Maternity Leave) (September 2020)


The Research Associate/Scientist will report to the Associate Director in the Research and Drug Discovery group. The candidate will be responsible for supporting functional validation of immunomodulatory molecules discovered by Compugen as well as Compugen’s clinical assets. This will include in-vitro functional assays with primary cells and cell lines. The candidate will be responsible for planning and conducting experiments, recording and analyzing data, and writing research reports. The candidate is expected to perform independently hands-on experimental work but also to collaborate in a multi-functional team.

  • Plan and execute in-vitro functional assays: Perform immune functional assays in-vitro with human cells
  • Design and establish experimental systems for evaluating human immunomodulatory molecules on various immune cell subsets (myeloid, T cells, NK cells)
  • Record results in laboratory notebook, prepare written reports and oral presentations in a timely manner
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely progress of research projects according to the pipeline prioritization


  • MSc in Life science, medical science or related field
  • Background in of immunological research in academical or industrial environment (+2 years experience) – must
  • Proficiency in cell culture of cell lines and of human primary immune cells – must
  • Vast experience in immune cell functional assays in-vitro - must
  • Vast experience with multicolor FACS analysis – must
  • Background in immune-oncology would be an advantage
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English) are required
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and activities
  • Ability to work independently; proactively addresses issues and troubleshoots problems
  • Maintains excellent working relationships with colleagues and collaborators
  • Well organized, efficient and systematic
