Scientist in the Research and Drug Discovery group (September 2020)


The Scientist will report to the Associate Director in the Research and Drug Discovery group. The candidate will be responsible for supporting functional validation of immunomodulatory molecules discovered by Compugen as well as Compugen’s clinical assets. This will include in-vitro functional assays with primary cells and cell lines. The candidate will be responsible for planning and conducting experiments, recording and analyzing data, and writing research reports. The candidate is expected to perform independently hands-on experimental work but also to collaborate in a multi-functional team.

Plan and execute in-vitro functional assays: Perform immune functional assays in-vitro with human cells
Design and establish experimental systems for evaluating human immunomodulatory molecules on various immune cell subsets (myeloid, T cells, NK cells)
Record results in laboratory notebook, prepare written reports and oral presentations in a timely manner
Collaborate with team members to ensure timely progress of research projects according to the pipeline prioritization


Ph.D. in Life Sciences, Immunology or related discipline or M.Sc with 4 years of immunological research experience – must
Strong scientific background in Immunology – must
Strong scientific background in Immuno-Oncology – advantage
Previous work experience in a biotech company or post graduate experience – advantage
Proficiency in cell culture of cell lines and of human primary immune cells – must
Broad experience in immune functional assays and in multi-parametric flow cytometry – must
Strong teamwork skills and a can-do attitude
A quick learner, efficient in multitasking, excellent attention to detail and record keeping
Highly motivated and results-driven individual with a passion for working in a fast-paced and evolving organization
Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills in English
