Scientist/Sr. Scientist position – Drug Development team

Emendo is developing a transformative gene editing technology to cure severe genetic diseases. We are looking for a motivated PhD level Scientist to join our drug development team. The successful candidate will take a central part in our efforts to assess our highly specific genome engineering compositions for the treatment of bone-marrow failure diseases. The project involves the establishment of functional assays and differentiation protocols to hematopoietic lineages. The position requires adaptability, creativity, and capacity for constant innovation in pursuit of company goals. The environment is exciting, fast-paced and offers the opportunity to work at the cutting edge of cellular engineering research.

Responsibilities:
 

  • Conceive, design, and perform experiments independently.
  • Direct the work of Research Associates as required.
  • Lead projects with CROs in Israel and abroad.
  • Work in sterile conditions with HSCs and iPSCs.
  • Record, analyze and present experimental data
  • Work cross-functionally with other groups

 

Qualifications & Skills
Ph.D. degree in a relevant field (Experience in the industry is an advantage).

Good social skills, hard worker and capable of performing on a tight schedule.

Demonstrated experience in the followings:

Developing and troubleshooting methodologies.

Tissue culture skills (working with iPSC/HSC is a must).

Differentiation protocols of iPSCs and HSCs to hematopoietic lineages (Advantage).

Flow cytometry and CFU assays.

Packaging of Lentivirus and rAAV (Advantage).

Genomic manipulations of HSC and iPSCs by nucleofection and transduction (Advantage).

ddPCR and NGS (advantage).                                               

Working with animal models (advantage).
