I will review the methodology of observational astrophysics.The physical principles of observational devices (telescopes, cameras, and detectors) will be described, and the capabilities of current and future facilities will be discussed. We will focus on the most fundamental problems in modern astrophysics and how these are approached observationally. The course is designed for all interested physics students.
