Setting printers

Connecting to printers for Windows users

To connect to a printer you must run the appropriate command.

  1. If you are a new user in the department, send the mail including your Weizmann user name and the group your belong to.
  2. There are public printers on the 2nd and the 7th floors of the Perlman building and in the Schmidt building. You can choose any of them. For the 7th floor printer use "7th_floor"; for the 2nd floor use "2nd_floor"; for the Schmidt building use "schmidt". Save an appropriate file on your computer.
  3. Go to the location of the saved file, double click on it (the new window should open) and drag the file from the opened window to the desktop.
  4. Double click on extracted file to run it.
  5. The script tries to delete old printers. It may take several minutes, be patient and do not close any windows!
  6. If a window opens requesting "Enter the user name for 'cbp-wprint02': ", type in your Weizmann user name with the domain name, e.g. wismain\username:

  7. If you were asked for a user name, enter your Weizmann password. Note - symbols are not shown during the typing:

  8. If you are asked to install driver, click "Install driver" button.
  9. To see the new printers press ⊞ Win+R ( Win key is  )
    • "cpcolor on cbp-wprint01"  (7th floor)
    • "nmrprint on cbp-wprint01" (2nd floor)
    • "cbp-prt-schmidt on cbp-wprint01" (Schmidt building)

    The default printer is set according to the script you chose.
