How to get to the Hilton

By car and from the airport: see instructions at the hotel website.

By train: You have several possibilities:
(a) Get off at the station Tel Aviv - Mercaz (next to the Diamond Exchange/"bursa" and the Sheraton City Towers hotel). Go to the Arlosoroff Street exit (the one in the station, and not the bridge over the Ayalon Freeway that leads to the Diamond Exchange). Then, take Dan bus 55, which stops at 194 Hayarkon Street (across the street from the Hilton).
(b) Get off at the station Tel Aviv - HaShalom (next to the Azrieli Mall and "haKirya"). Take Dan bus 56, which stops at the corner of Dizengoff and Nordau Streets.

From the Tel Aviv Central Bus Station: Take Dan bus 4. This line runs frequently, and is also served by many "sherut" taxis.

For additional information and schedules, see the websites of Israel Railways, Dan (local bus company), and Egged (interurban buses).

Parking at the Hilton

Parking will be available in the hotel parking lot subject to a fee of NIS 25 per entrance. Vouchers will be given our at the conference registration/hospitality desk and payment will be made upon departure.

Poster Arrangements

Poster panels are 90 cm. wide but the usable height can be up to 150 cm. (The panels are tall.) Posters will be exhibited in Hall C: all posters can stay up for both poster sessions.

Audiovisual Arrangements

(a) A Speakers' Ready Desk will be provided where you can upload your presentations onto a computer (from a CD or USB stick/"disk-on-key"). An IT technician will verify with you that they open and display correctly and then will transfer them to the computer in the room where you will be speaking by the network infrastructure. During the break before the session in which you will be speaking, please could you confirm, with the assistance of the AV technician in your assigned lecture hall, that all slides (and any video clips or other multimedia files) open and display correctly there.
This "upload beforehand to host computer" solution should work for essentially all self-contained Powerpoint presentations, as well as for all PDF presentations.

(b) Some of you will, however, wish to use your own laptops. If so, you will be required — during the break before the session in which you are speaking — to hook up your own respective laptops to the video switch provided in each room, and to put your presentations on standby at the first slide. (An AV technician will be on hand to assist you, should this be required.)
When your speaker slot comes up, all that needs to be done is to put your presentation on screen is pressing a single button on the video switch, and to place your laptop computer on the lectern in front of you, with the assistance of the AV technician.
I personally recommend this solution for PC users with presentations that rely on external multimedia files (video clips, sound recordings,...), to avoid "movie file not found" type embarrassments.
I would also recommend it for Macintosh and Linux users, as well as (obviously) for those of you using presentation software other than Powerpoint or Adobe Reader (e.g., Apple Keynote).
Being a diehard Macintosh user myself, I will bring my spare Powerbook to the meeting just in case somebody has trouble with their Powerbook or Macbook.

(c) In the unlikely event that you still wish to use transparencies, or in the event that you require presentation equipment beyond data projection and voice amplification, please Email me for assistance.

Additional practical details will be posted here as they become available.
