In this workshop, we will focus on the applications of Impurity Spins for Quantum Information and Technologies. Our aim is to bring together world-leading experts in order to discuss recent developments as well as future perspectives in the field.

Impurity Spins in crystals - such as donors in silicon or defect centers in wide-band-gap materials - can reach very long coherence times and are therefore promising candidates for quantum information. They can be implemented as qubits, quantum memories, quantum transducers between microwave and optical light as well as quantum sensors. A particular focus will be put on hybrid structures which combine these spins with superconducting quantum circuits.

This workshop has been taking place every year since 2011 (Saclay (2018), Okinawa (2017), Billund (2016), London (2015), …). This year the workshop will take place from the 8th till the 11th of September at the Faculty of Medicine of Bar Ilan University in Safed, a small town in the North of Israel, which is historically the center of Jewish mysticism (Kabbalah). Please check the venue section for more details.

Registration is open until June 15th and is mandatory. Poster submission and student participation is highly encouraged.
