The 2019 Justen Passwell symposium "Dynamics and control of infectious disease in the era of antibiotic resistance" is organised in memory of Prof. Justen Passwell, a pediatrician, researcher, and former director of the Edmond and Lily Safra Children’s Hospital, Sheba Medical Center, Tel Hashomer. Prof. Passwell was a passionate researcher and physician also in the field of infectious disease and in keeping with the "Passwell spirit", the meeting will bring together both active researchers and physicians in this field.
The purpose of the symposium is to explore the roots of the gaps between basic infection research and the clinical evidence of rising rates of antibiotic resistance, with the intention of improving our understanding of how we can better translate them into effective therapies against infectious diseases.
This is a joint meeting with the annual meeting of the Israeli society of microbiology
