In October 2018, we will hold the 4th international conference on the Molecular Medicine of Sphingolipids. The 1st in this series of conferences was held in Israel in 2012, the 2nd in Germany in 2014, the 3rd in the USA in 2016, and now we will be returning to Israel, where the first conference was held. The dates are 14-19 October, 2018.

Sphingolipids are important molecules involved in a number of essential biological processes. Of great excitement recently is the realization that sphingolipids are involved in various critical aspects of human disease. These diseases range from the classic ‘sphingolipid storage diseases’ (such as Tay-Sachs, Gaucher, Farbry and Hunter’s diseases) to cancer, immunological diseases and even psychiatric diseases. The realization that sphingolipids are vital players in human disease, and that they are targets for therapy and themselves therapeutics, prompted the founding of the ‘Molecular Medicine of Sphingolipids’ conference series.

Registration will open on May 8th, 2018
