The conference will be held at the Weizmann Institute of Science, Rehovot, Israel.
An interactive map of the campus is available at http://www.weizmann.ac.il/maps/campus6.shtml.
Accomodations will be provided on-site, or at close-by guesthouses, and is included in the conference fees.
Rehovot is a small town, about 25 minutes drive from the airport or from Tel Aviv. The campus is a green oasis, with rare plants and many sculptures scattered between the buildings. The street outside the institute is full of restaurants, pubs and cafés.
The weather is warm, and the average temperatures for the season are 15-26 deg C. Some days can be much warmer; please get updated before you arrive.
Unfortunately, there are no hotels in Rehovot. We have booked the Institute's San Martin guest house for the senior scientists (building 25 on the campus map), as well as rooms in the Laub International Science Youth Village (building 52 on the campus map) for other guests.
Other rooms are available at the Raizfeld Guesthouse of the Faculty of Agriculture, across the street from the WIS main gate.
The accommodations are quite basic, in order to keep costs low.
The Weizmann Institute's web site offers directions to the Institute.
In general, taxis from the airport are very safe, as long as you use the licensed taxis and do not accept any other offers. Their stand is located about 50 meters to your left, when you exit the arrival hall.
As you approach the dispatcher, you will be handed a note with the name of your driver. Keep that until the end of your journey, in case you wish to complain or you forget something in the taxi.
You may ask in advance for the price, and we recommend that you do that. There is a standardized rate table that all drivers must use Prices are under government supervision, currently between 100-130 Shekels [25 Euro], depending on the time of day and the number of suitcases.
Another tip: in the baggage claim hall at the airport you will find an ATM machine. It is a branch of our local banks, where the commissions are exactly identical to those in town, but it is a safe place to get cash before approaching the taxi stand. For your convenience, there are also ATM machines on the campus.
On Monday we will have an excursion to Jerusalem, followed by the conference dinner.
Internet connections are available freely throughout the conference site.
