Biology for Renewable Energy Workshop 2011

The Biology for Renewable Energy Workshop (BREW) is a meeting aimed at students and postdocs involved in the research of renewable fuels of biological origin. Such a student-oriented convention will provide an informal forum for sharing information among members and discussing the latest development and current challenges in the field. The program will consist of keynote lectures by leading experts from both academia and industry, but mainly of students that will present their own work. The topics to be addressed are:

  • Bioethanol and biodiesel production
  • Degradation of ligno-cellulosic waste
  • Hydrogen evolution by biological systems
  • Artificial photosynthesis
  • Ethical, ecological and economical considerations of large scale usage of biofuels.
  • Energy policy.

Registration fee: Students: 400 NIS (with abstract), 500 NIS (w/o abstract)

                             Postdocs: 600 NIS (with abstract), 900 NIS (w/o abstract)
