Study of basic properties of
modern micropattern gaseous electron
multipliers such as Microstrip, Microgap, Microdot, Gas Electron
Multiplier (GEM) etc. The studies include their operation mechanism under
various configurations (e.g. single or multistage configuration), gases
and pressures. The accent is on their response to single photons and
single electrons.
