welcome to :
the
laboratory
We study radiation interactions with gas and solid matter, and develop
methods to exploit the secondary charges, created in these interactions,
for fast and accurate radiation detection.
We focus on understanding the interaction processes and search for ways to
conceive better radiation convertors, incorporated in more advanced
radiation detectors. The research program incorporated both, experimental
tools and theoretical modeling.
An important activity is the development of modern detection concepts for
Nuclear and Particle physics, Synchrotron Radiation, Material Science,
Medicine and Radiobiology.
New methods are investigated in improving the detectability of small
cancer tumors, and in quantifying and understanding the cause of radiation
damage to the cell DNA.
