Framework |
|
Access to and downloading
of electronic full text resources is subject to agreements between
the Library, Malmad (Israel Center for Digital Information Services)
and the publishers. Users of the various digital services such as
e-journals, e-books and databases are expected to respect the copyright
of the various publishers. |

|
Privileges |
|
The access to and downloading of
these resources are permissible to the Weizmann Institute community
only: faculty members, staff, students and authorized visitors, solely
for their individual use, for scholarly research and educational purposes.

Restrictions |
|
Article downloading is allowed
to WIS scientists, students and staff only. Walk-in users are asked
to consult the librarian.
However, Systematic downloading or printing is strictly prohibited.
All download accelerators, should be switched off
when downloading articles since they can trigger automatic cutoff.
Downloading or printing of full text of an entire
e-book, e-journal issue or volume constitutes a violation of intellectual
property rights and is in breach of license agreements.

|
| |
|
|
|
Consequences |
|
Abusing these rules may lead to denial
of access for the entire Institute.
Any misuse of these resources is in violation of the copyright laws
and/or the agreements between the Weizmann Institute of Science and
the publishers and will be considered grounds for disciplinary action
against the perpetrator. In the digital library environment, it is
relatively simple for the supplier to monitor use and pinpoint abuse.
While libraries are aware of this, individual researchers may not
be, and there have been several unpleasant incidents, in which the
suppliers have notified our Library of such misuse.
