Q1 I am looking for an eBook in the library catalog but can only find the print edition on the shelf. How do I find the electronic version?
A1: The search result screen of the library catalog displays an entry for each format that the library owns. So, if there is an electronic version of a title you are searching for, it will display in a separate record adjacent to the record that displays the status of the print version. If you are only intersted in the electronic version you can narrow your search by format using the options on the right side of the screen. If there is no entry marked "Electronic Book" it means that the library does not own the electronic version of the book.Q2 I am trying to access an eJournal through Pubmed but can't get in, what should I do?
A2: Try to access the eJournal directly by searching it in the Library Catalog or finding it in the Online Resource section of the Library's homepage. If you can't find the title, it means that the library does not subscribe to the eJournal.Q3 I am not able to get into the citation index, I haven't had this problem before.
A3: Check if you are using a bookmark. If you are, try accessing the site via the Library web site, you can search for the title in the library catalog or try locating it in our list of Databases. If the link still does not work, please report it to the library. The library does not reccomend using bookmarks to access remote databases because of the frequency with which links change.Q4 How can I access the library's eResources from off campus?
A4: In order to access Weizmann's collection of electronic resources, you will need a Weizmann universal Novell username and password. With it, you can log into our authentication service, EZProxy. Note that if you are already logged in to Weizmann using SecureID there is no need to authenticate to EZproxy. For more information see our "How to Connect" page. A SecureID card and instructions can be obtained at the Computing Center.
Q5 I am leaving the country soon and want to obtain a username and password so I can access eResources from abroad??
A5: You do not need a special username and password. Use your Weizmann Novell username and password to authenticate to Ezproxy and then you will be able to access all of our electronic resources, including eJournals.
Q6 After authenticating to EZproxy I get a list of names I don't recognize like ScienceDirect and SciFinder, how can I find the article I am looking for?
A6: The names that display in the list are the names of the databases through which the title you searched can be obtained. If multiple names display it is because the title can be accessed through multiple databases. If you have searched an article title then the list will most likely contain full text databases, if you searched for a journal or book the list could contain the names of sites that offer access to the eJournal or eBook.
Q7 Why do I need EZproxy for searching services that are free like Google Scholar and PubMed?
A7: Though Google Scholar and PubMed are free, not all resources that they include are. If you have authenticated to EZproxy you will be able to link from Google Scholar or PubMed to restricted resources subscribed to by Weizmann. If you have not authenticated you will not be able to access these restricted resources.
Q8 How can I read Nature/Science from off campus?
A8: Once you have succesfully authenticated to the EZproxy server you will be able to read these and other eJournals subscribed to by Weizmann. To find eJournals like Nature or Science, search the journal title in the library catalog and link to the electronic version from the record.
Q9 Is it possible to use EZproxy on campus?
A9: EZproxy is always used it is our Access protocol for on and off Campus, however, when you are working on-campus EZproxy identifies the ip as coming from the Weizmann campus and does not prompt you to login.
Q10 I have authenticated to EZproxy but I can't see the PDF version of an article I'm interested in. I still receive a request to enter my username and password in order to see the full text. Why?
A10: If you do not see a link to the PDF from the record, it means that Weizmann Library doesn't have a subscription that includes the full text version of the title. If you need it, you can order it using the "Article Order" form. Please note that in order to place an order you must have a valid Weizmann budget account. If you don't have one of your own, consult your advisor or faculty administrator.

You can either request that it be shipped to you, or you can download it, which involves a credit card (private) payment. We recommend that you first check with your department administrator
