Collection

The Library contains books and periodicals on various subjects of Pure and Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Mathematical Biology and other subjects. The Library also holds a very limited number of older technical reports in Computer Science.

Books

Books are shelved according to the Dewey Decimal Classification.
To locate library material, please use the online Library Catalog.

The book collection is located in the 3-floor building of the Library. Floor plans are also available on each floor. The Library has a collection of Permanent Reserve Books. Both the Permanent Reserve books, which consist of heavily used material, and the Course Reserve books are in locked bookcases (consult the librarian for their use) located on the Ground Floor. Other special collections on the Ground Floor include newly received books, Mathematical Tables, Reference Books and Collected Works.

Books in Computer Science are kept on the First Floor (one floor above the Ground Floor).
The Second Floor continues the book classification (100 onwards) and includes mainly subjects other than computer science.
A bookcase housing the Historical Collection (most works written before 1900) is located here as well.

To locate Library material items, please use the Library Catalog.

Periodicals

The periodicals are arranged alphabetically by title. Older volumes of journals are located on the Ground floor and the First Floor.
The Computer Science periodicals collection is shelved in the First Floor.
The Mathematics periodicals are shelved on the second floor and in the Goldenberg Library.
The current issues are on display in the Goldenberg Library.

The location of each journal can be found in the Library Catalog.

Periodicals are not available for loan, except for special purposes (scanning or photocopying).

Some periodicals can be found both in print and electronic form.

The Library System also provides students, faculty and staff with access to online resources including databases, journals, and more.

Check the Document Supply and Interlending procedures for the following services:

  •   Obtaining articles from other libraries on campus.
  •   Obtaining articles or books from other university libraries in Israel.
  •   Obtaining articles from abroad.
Article supply/External book form: request form

Technical reports in computer science

Because of space considerations, only a limited number of older technical reports from well-known universities (e.g., Stanford) are still maintained on the First Floor of the library.

The Library System provides access to electronic resources. Check our databases & electronic journals for relevant collections.
