Kahn-Minerva School on Design Principles of Biological Systems
December 30, 2006 - January 5, 2007
Weizmann Institute of Science
Focusing on an exciting field on the interface between biology and physics, this school will provide an opportunity for a small group of students and researchers to learn about cutting edge research. Each lecturer will give a mini-course of 4 lectures, and ample time will be available for discussions. The school will focus on design principles of biological circuits, questioning why biological systems are built the way they are. Generalizable principles that unite different systems will be presented, ranging from gene networks in bacteria to pattern formation in embryonic development to principles of human behavior in drama.
