Capsule with an elastic polymer membrane is one of the models of red blood cell (RBC). The capsules are also interesting by their own since they are widely used in industry and biology. Its dynamics has features similar to RBC dynamics. A capsule is a drop of a fluid covered by a polymer membrane with stretching elasticity. Since the properties of the capsule membrane differ from those of lipid one, their dynamics are also different. In spite of rather intensive numerical and recently theoretical studies of the capsule dynamics, the experimental studies are very scarce. It is explained mostly by the difficulties to produce the capsules with given parameters in the control way, so that the elastic properties of the capsule membrane will be close to those of RBC or in the needed range of values. Thus the well-controlled and reproducible technology of capsule production based on microfluidics is necessary ingredient to quantitatively study its dynamics. The technology developed recently at the lab allows getting rather uniform size micro-capsules but it should be revised and improved to be more reliable and reproducible. This development gives us the opportunity to study the dynamics of capsules in micro-fluidic devices in various flows.
