My research aims to unravel the mechanisms of long term memory storage in the brain, a phenomenon that we know very little about. We have recently discovered that selective inhibition of PKMzeta, a member of the protein kinase C family, erases remote taste memories in the rat cortex. This implies that memories are actively maintained by persistent enzymatic activity, and might enable disrupting traumatic memories or strengthening our memory capacity. In my out-of-lab life, I enjoy traveling, cinema and fantasy books, which inspire my imagination.
