The Department of Hospitality and Conferences

After entering the campus gates, guests immediately gain a sense of the wonders of the Weizmann Institute of Science. Its 280-acre campus is green and lush, a quiet sanctuary in which scientists are busily focused on their research and students are learning in classrooms, libraries, and laboratories.  A beautiful environment inspires and stimulates creativity, which is why the Weizmann Institute invests great efforts in nurturing the work environment of the Institute scientists. The campus retains a unique public art collection that dots the landscape, thanks to works of world-famous artists, and its buildings display some of the most interesting architecture designed by renowned architects. Gardens comprise 94 acres of the Institute grounds, including seven acres of orchards.

The Weizmann Institute of Science welcomes visitors from all walks of life—from school children to tourists from Israel and abroad, distinguished scientists, dignitaries, friends, and supporters—and offers its diversity of guests a wide variety of tours and experiences on campus.

The Levinson Visitors Center, located in the David Lopatie Conference Centre as of November 2011, is the focal point for campus guests. There, visitors are introduced to the Institute with a state-of-the-art modern multimedia experience that kindles curiosity about the Weizmann Institute and about science and the nature of humanity and the universe. Guests depart from there to explore the highlights of the campus. Our team creates tailor-made programs suited to each visitor’s, or visiting group’s, pace and time frame.

The Conference Unit provides conference planning expertise that ensures the success of the Institute’s many scientific conferences that attract scholars from throughout the world.

The Lopatie Conference Centre is the main hub for scientific conferences on campus. The Conference Unit coordinates and manages conferences at the highest professional standards that match the professional standards of the scientific disciplines throughout the Institute, and with a personal touch and attention to every detail. Each conference is custom-made to the specific needs of the involved scientists, with special attention to foreign scientists unfamiliar with Israel. This makes the Weizmann Institute a special place for our scientists as well as for visiting international scientists.

The department is comprised of a team of trained professionals with years of experience in attending to the many details involved in campus tours and scientific conferences.
