Search for Charged Higgs Bosons in ATLAS

The Standard Model (SM) suffers from many problems (to name just that neurinos have masses and Dark Matter). Supersymmetry is the most popular solution to many of the SM problems. A Charged Higgs Boson is a smoking gun to Supersymmetry. Our group has been involved many years in the search for a Charged Higgs in both its tb decay mode (if the Charged Higgs is heavier than the top Quark) and its decay to a Tau lepton and Neutrino. The search is performed with the ATLAS detector at the Large hadron Collider , CERN.
