Since its origins, in 1934, as the Daniel Sieff Research Institute, through its renaming, in 1949, the Weizmann Institute of Science has been transformed over the years from a lone laboratory building in a barren expanse of sand to a thriving, international hub of world-class science on a beautifully landscaped campus.

This website outlines the role of philanthropy in the physical development of the campus. It lists all the buildings established or refurbished through philanthropic gifts, and highlights one prominent gift in each decade.

The Weizmann Institute is deeply grateful to its many friends around the globe for their longstanding and generous support.
