Current Research Interests
(together with Professor Michael Hass)

The study of nuclear structure "under extreme conditions" has become the main subject of interest and excitement in this field, triggered and fueled by impressive advances in both experimental facilities and theoretical investigations. Our studies probe the nucleus under these "extreme conditions" by:
a.- measuring magnetic moments of very high-spin states in the superdeformed region;
b.-  studying nuclei with extreme values of iso-spin in far-from-stability nuclei;
c.- measuring very small effects of parity-non-conservation. Our most recent activity is in the field of nuclear astrophysics, conducting experiments crucial  to the understandingof the "solar neutrino" puzzle and the possibility of neutrino mass and to issues related to nucleo-synthesis in the cosmos.  Our group in Rehovot has been actively engaged in this reserach via experiments both at the Accelerator Laboratory of the Weizmann Institute as well as experiments in leading Centers abroad, like Gammasphere(Berkeley), ISOLDE (CREN), GSI (Darmstadt) and GANIL (Caen).
