Frequently Asked Questions

1. How long after the PhD can I submit my application?
   A: Your PhD must have been approved after January 1, 2012.
2. Is there an age limit?
   A: Yes. The candidate must be age 40 or less at the time of the application.
3. Where can the postdoctoral research lab be located?
   A: The lab in which the postdoctoral research will be conducted must be overseas and not in Israel, and the principal investigator must be a leader in the field.
4. I am an Israeli citizen and my PhD studies were conducted abroad. Am I eligible for the Award?
   A: No. Award eligibility depends on PhD studies in Israel.
5. I am not an Israeli citizen, buy my PhD studies were conducted in Israel. Am I eligible for the Award?
   A: No. Award eligibility depends on an Israeli citizenship.
6. Does marital or family status determine Award eligibility?
   A: No. Eligibility does not depend on family status.
7. Does family status affect the awarded amount?
   A: No. The decisions are based on a candidate's academic excellence only.
8. What is the period covered by the Award?
   A: The awards are given for two years. Transfer of the funds in the second year is contingent on the continuation of the postdoctoral research.
9. Is the second-year extension automatic?
   A: No. The second year’s amount will be transferred if the postdoctoral research is satisfactory.
10. Is the amount identical in both years?
    A: Yes.
11. Does the Award depend on my return to Israel at the end of the postdoctoral research?
    A: No. However, we encourage you to choose to develop your research career in Israel upon completion of your postdoctoral research.
12. Whom should I contact for further information?

13. Upon my application, I do not yet have another source of funding for my postdoctoral research. Can I apply for the Award?
    A: No. Your application will not be accepted unless you have an additional source of funding.

      תשובה: הפרס נועד למסיימות בישראל     

5.   אני אינני אזרחית ישראלית אך סיימתי לימודי דוקטורט במוסד אקדמי בישראל, האם אני זכאית לפרס?
      תשובה: הפרס נועד לאזרחיות ישראליות     

6.   האם המצב המשפחתי (רווקה, נשואה, נשואה + ילדים, אם חד הורית) קובע זכאות לפרס?
      תשובה: לא, זכאות אינה תלויה במצב המשפחתי     

7.   האם המצב המשפחתי קובע את גובה הפרס?
      תשובה: לא, גובה הפרס נקבע על בסיס מצוינות אקדמית בלבד.     

8.   לכמה זמן ניתן הפרס?
      תשובה: הפרס ניתן לשתי שנים, הפרס בשנה שנייה יוענק על סמך המשך תקין של ההשתלמות.     

9.   האם הארכה לשנה שנייה היא אוטומטית?
      תשובה: לא, ההארכה אינה אוטומטית ותוענק על סמך המשך תקין של ההשתלמות.     

10.מה גובה הפרס בשנה ראשונה ושנייה?
     תשובה: גובה הפרס זהה בדרך כלל בשתי השנים.     

11.האם קבלת הפרס מותנית בחזרה לארץ עם סיום תקופת ההשתלמות?
     תשובה: לא, אך אנו מקווים שמקבלות הפרס תשאפנה לפתח קריירה מדעית בארץ     

12.בדבר מידע נוסף למי עלי לפנות?

13.בעת הגשת הבקשה לפרס עדיין אין לי מלגה ממקור אחר, האם אני יכולה להגיש בקשה בשלב זה?
     תשובה: לא ניתן לקבל את הפרס אם עד המועד האחרון להגשת הבקשה אין לך מלגה ממקור אחר
