Testimonials from Revson Fellows:
Dr. Yana Nec, Revson Fellow
Dr. Nec is studying in the Department of Mathematics at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. She says:
For relocating with a family, the award was an immense help, and, in truth, without it this fellowship would unlikely have happened and the extension to a third year of training would have definitely been impossible, because the salary provided here is only suitable for a single person (and most postdoctoral fellows here are indeed single). Fellows from abroad are obviously not allowed to work outside the university and their partners have trouble finding jobs with contracts that last for more than a couple of months, because the preference is clearly given to locals. UBC is a fantastic place to conduct postdoctoral research and we are deeply grateful to the Award for this opportunity.
