Disposal of Expired Drugs (May 2010)
Outdated and expired drugs are usually disposed of as regular waste. As a result, toxic materials may contaminate the soil and ground water, finally reaching our food. Especially hazardous are: hormones, antibiotics and cytotoxic drugs.The Safety and Environment Unit has assigned cardboard containers designated for the purpose of disposing old and expired drugs. These containers will be collected from the departments by the Safety and Environment Unit and treated according to regulations.
Relocation of The Safety & Environmental Unit (Septemeber 2009)
As of Monday, September 2nd, the Safety and Environment Unit has relocated to the Weitz building (the Sochnut building). All the unit's members have moved to the new location except for Zvi Loebel (the Radiation Safety Officer), the radiation laboratory and facility, all of which remain in the Wolfson – Roentgen building.
