The safety training program is required by Weizmann Institute regulations, as well as by Israeli law, for all employees who work with hazardous substances including:

• chemicals
• human blood
• blood products and fluids
• human tissue
• bacteria and viruses

and radioactive materials and hazardous instrumentation such as:

• accelerators
• x-ray machines
• and laser systems.

The Safety lectures are given by the Safety and Environment Unit staff.
