About the service
The Electron Microscopy Unit provides service and in-depth practical training in sample preparation and electron microscopy at beginning and advanced levels. Our facilities include basic instrumentation as well as cutting-edge technologies for Biological as well as the Materials Sciences applications. The staff members help scientists from different fields to carry out their own research using the unit's equipment, as well as providing microscopy services.
The staff scientists and additional support personnel operate and maintain a variety of transmission electron microscopes (TEM), scanning electron microscopes (SEM), dual-beam focused ion beam/SEM, micro-CT (x-ray computed tomography), super resolution microscope (STORM/PALM) and advanced light microscopes (for correlative work).
