The Structural Biology Initiative of the CUNY Advanced Science Research Center invites applications for full-time, tenure-track faculty members at any rank.

There is an exciting opportunity to apply for a PhD studentship in the
area of protein NMR and molecular dynamics simulations methodologies
to support chemical probes development. The PhD studentship is funded
by the EASTBIO BBSRC DTP and is only available to students that
satisfy BBSRC eligibility requirements (UK nationals or EU students
who have been resident in the UK for 3+ years immediately prior to the
programme start date).

A postdoctoral position in biomedical magnetic resonance is available within the Magnetic Resonance Imaging and Spectroscopy Section at the National Institute on Aging (NIA) of the National Institutes of Health, located in Baltimore, Maryland, USA.

The overall research program in the group encompasses spectroscopic and imaging studies of brain, cartilage, and muscle in human subjects, as well as preclinical studies of animal models of disease and ex vivo studies of cartilage biophysics.

Title: Visualising via Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) the Increase in Flow Through Channels in Biofilms.
This project will apply and develop Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) techniques to study the control of biofilms. MRI will be used to investigate the increase in flow through the channels formed in biofilms.
Project objectives
1. Image biofilm formation, visualise flow and diffusion properties within and surrounding the biofilm and monitor the development of channels within the biofilm matrix.
