Every second year, the subdivision for biological solid-state NMR of AMPERE organizes an advanced school on biological solid-state NMR. The 7th edition of the school will take place at the Universitat de les Illes Balears, Palma de Mallorca, Spain from October 21-26, 2018. Palma de Mallorca is well connected to most places in Europe with cheap flights and budget accommodation outside the main tourist season.


We would like to announce a summer school "Magnetic Resonance and Magnetic Phenomena in Chemical and Biological Physics". The School will be held on 15-20 September 2018 in Russia, Roshchino, St. Petersburg (Leningrad) region. The program will include lectures and practical tutorials. We anticipate that this school will give young scientists a good opportunity to learn how pulsed NMR and EPR methods work and to get acquainted with interplay of electron and nuclear spins in NMR and EPR experiments.

The 40th Annual Discussion Meeting of the Fachgruppe Magnetic Resonance

In 2015, the Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) “Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR), a Compass to Nanoworld” hosted on the FUN platform was one of the first MOOCs covering the subject of NMR.

It is our great pleasure to announce that the second! offering of this MOOC is now open for free registration. 

This MOOC in English aims at providing the basic knowledge about NMR and an overview of its applications to students and professionals who want to enter this field.

Financed by the Volkswagen-Stiftung will be a summer school on the Theory of NMR at Youth hostel Schloss Windischleuba (40 km South of Leipzig) from Sun/19 (evening) to Sat/25 (morning) Feb. 2017.  The school will focus on solid-state NMR.  The subjects of the school will cover: basics of quantum mechanics, quantum mechanics for NMR, static solids, MAS, CPMAS, decoupling, recoupling, pulse techniques, AHT, Floquet, Quadrupolar nuclei, polymers, solid bio samples.

The 10th “NMR: a tool for biology“ conference, jointly organized by the NMR laboratory of Institut Pasteur and the Bruker company is scheduled from Jan 30th to Feb 1st 2017. In the tradition of its long history, the conference will be held at Institut Pasteur in Paris.

This is the biennial Field-Cycling NMR conference, previously held in Berlin (1998) and then every two years in Torino until 2013. So it is the first move for the conference since 2001!

The Advanced Isotopic Labelling Methods for integrated structural biology AILM 2015 workshop will focus on the development of isotopic labelling techniques and their application to the study of biomolecular structure and dynamics.

The Practical School on Advanced Isotopic Labelling Methods for Biological NMR will take place in Grenoble from January 26th to 30th 2015. This training will be based on practical sessions in which challenging biological systems are produced and labelled. Systems such as large multi-domain proteins, large monomeric proteins, oligomeric protein assemblies, large RNAs will be used as well as target RNAs and proteins constructs brought by the participants.

The next COST Training School on Hyperpolarization techniques will be held on 20-24th October 2014, nearby Marseille.

The COST Action offers grants to support the venue and the participation to the School.
