Nitroxide and related persistent organic free radicals exhibit unique chemical and physical properties, making them an exceptional choice as synthetic and functional tools for emerging nano- and bio-technologies.  Since the first nitroxide symposium at Pacifichem 2010, we have witnessed significant further growth of this field, primarily owned to synergetic progress in several areas and expansion to other persistent free radicals, in addition to nitroxides.

The Symposium will emphasize new emerging directions in the field of materials and technologies that are based on nitroxides and other persistent organic free radicals. Specifically, original contributions are solicited in the following areas:
1) Synthesis of functional nitroxide radicals and related persistent radicals with programmed properties and applications such as biomedicine,  biophysics, and DNP;
2) The chemical and physical properties of supramolecular assemblies;
3) Nanomaterials and hybrid nano-structures;
4) Controlled radical polymerization and polymers;
5) Devices that are based on free radicals and nitroxides, such as batteries and non-volatile memory.

The Symposium will bring together organic synthetic, polymer, and material chemists, as well as experts in spectroscopy and the underlying theory.
See for details of abstract submission.
