2 years postodoctoral positon in biomolecular NMR

A postdoctoral position is available immediately to join the Structural Biology of Cancer group, led by Prof. Francisco J. Blanco in the Structural Biology Unit at the CIC bioGUNE, a multidisciplinary research institute in the Technological Park of Bizkaia, near Bilbao, Spain.

The main focus of the group is the structure-function relationship of proteins involved in chromatin regulation and DNA replication and repair. We use Nuclear Magnetic Resonance and other biophysical techniques for the structural characterization of the proteins and their interactions with other biomolecules (see recent publications below).

The Structural Biology Unit consists of several groups with expertise in NMR, Crystallography and Electron Microscopy. The Unit is fully equipped for the expression and purification of proteins in heterologous hosts as well as for their biophysical characterization (including circular dichroism, fluorescence, multiangle light scattering, and calorimetry).

The bioGUNE NMR platform is managed by Dr. Tammo Diercks and it consists of Bruker 800 (+TCI cryoprobe) and two 600 MHz spectrometers. We are also occasional users of the crystallography and electron microscopy platforms, administered by their own managers.

The candidate should hold a PhD degree, have a strong interest in structural biology and experience in biomolecular NMR spectroscopy. Experience in protein expression and purification would be a plus.
