Engineer at Univ. of Cologne NMR core facility, Germany

At the NMR core facility of the University of Cologne, the position of an engineer will be open from July 1st, 2018. The deadline for applications is 30th of May.

The NMR facility at the University of Cologne serves primarily the institutes of the department of chemistry, but maintains also collaborations in the field of NMR with other local research institutions (Max Planck, medicine and biology). The facility personnel consists in a shared lab management and research leader position, two technicians and the (now open) engineer. We are currently running 6 NMR spectrometers (from 300 to 600 MHz, liquid state) and providing service and research measurements for about 150 active users from four institutes.

We are looking for an individual with a strong interest in participation in computational and technical developments, concerning facility workflow and research activities of the facility. There is also the possibility to engage in own projects and/or involvement in research of the NMR facility.

The position is permanent, salary according to the German pay group TV-L 11 (at, select group E11, 90%). English language is required, German language is a plus, but should be considered as desirable skill.
