Job Opportunities for Postdoctoral Fellows and Research Associates in Peru

The NMR laboratory at the Pontificia Universidad Catolica del Peru in collaboration with the NMR & Molecular Interaction Group headed by Dr. Guy Lippens (CNRS-INSA Toulouse, France) is looking for highly motivated postdoctoral fellows and research associates to work in a multidisciplinary environment within the scope of “Nuclear Magnetic Resonance for Food Science and Health Science”, a project funded by the National Science and Technology System (CONCYTEC, “Convocatoria Magnet in collaboration UNESCO”. The selected candidates will work in a multidisciplinary environment.

Profile:

Applicants must possess an advanced degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) in Chemistry, Biochemistry or Physics with research experience in one or several of the following areas:

· Metabolomics applied to food science: experience in metabolomics, through sample preparation to handling the statistical data analysis (PLS, PCA, and others). Experience in NMR will be appreciated.

· Computational Chemistry: experience in drug design, computational modeling, molecular docking and structure calculation.

· Biomolecular NMR of proteins: experience in biomolecular NMR spectroscopy, including pulse sequence design. Previous experience with molecular biology and protein expression/purification is appreciated.

All candidates must be fluent in English. Spanish is not mandatory.

Salary: 130,000 to 210,000 soles (between USD 30-60k) per year based on the qualifications.

Period of employment: Up to three years

Foreigners could be hired as members of UNESCO and be tax exempt. Peruvians as PUCP members will benefit from the university health and retirement plans.

Start date:  Between February 2017 to September 2017
