Postdoctoral position at the Institute of Biology and Physical chemistry IBPC in Paris

The group of Dr Carine Tisné is inviting applications for a postdoctoral associate position in the area of RNA biogenesis and maturation at the Institute of Biology and Physical chemistry IBPC) in Paris (http://www.ibpc.fr/UMR8261/equipeTisne/AccueilTisne.htm).

The research project involves the structural investigation of biomolecules inside living cells with Nuclear Magnetic Resonance spectroscopy (NMR).

Candidates must hold a PhD in biochemistry, structural biology, or microbiology. Experience in RNA sample preparation by in vitro methods or in yeast genetics and molecular biology will be an asset. Knowledge in biomolecular NMR, and in RNA structural studies would be appreciated but is not required. In that case, motivation to learn biomolecular NMR techniques is essential. Excellent communication skills in English or French, ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams and scientific creativity are essential. We offer an exciting and enthusiastic work environment together with a stimulating location at the center of Paris (close to “Jardin du Luxembourg”).

To be considered, all applicants need to submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae with full publication list, 1-2 representative publications, and 2-3 contacts of scientists with whom the candidate has been working, all in PDF format. Letters of support may be asked at a further stage of selection. If you have any questions, please email Dr. Carine Tisné (carine.tisne@ibpc.fr) and/or Dr. Pierre Barraud (pierre.barraud@ibpc.fr).

The position offers a one-year contract with a possible renewal for another year in case of mutual interest. The anticipated appointment starting date is September 1st, 2017. Applications will be accepted immediately and candidates will be considered on a rolling basis until the position is filled.
