Postdoctoral position at Southampton

A three-year postdoctoral researcher position is available in the research group of Ilya Kuprov at the University of Southampton from 01/01/2016. The project involves using quantum chemistry and spin dynamics simulations to design a new class of paramagnetic MRI contrast agents. The project is a collaboration with the research groups of Eric McInnes (Manchester University) and David Parker (Durham University) – the theory and simulation aspect is located at Southampton.

We are looking for a person with hands-on experience with spin dynamics, numerical linear algebra, partial differential equations and high-performance computing. Expert knowledge of Matlab and relevant computer science background would be a major advantage.

University of Southampton is a UK Russell Group university positioned in the top 1% of world universities according to QS World University Rankings. We have an international reputation for research, teaching and enterprise activities. Southampton is particularly well known for its magnetic resonance and computational chemistry research – this project is located at the intersection of those areas.
