Outstanding female PhDs, from all Israeli institutions of higher learning, who have been conducting postdoctoral work abroad in the exact and natural sciences, are encouraged to apply to the Women’s Postdoctoral Career Development Award in Science.
Applications must be submitted no later than May 1, 2022.
Approximately 10 recipients will be selected per year, by a committee led by the Head of the Weizmann Institute’s Office for the Advancement of Women in Science and Gender Equality.
Eligible candidates will have completed at least one year and no more than four years of postdoctoral training at the time of submission.
The award includes the following:
- Prize of $70,000 (USD) distributed over a two-year period
- Private sessions with a professional career development consultant
- Travel fund of $2,000 for job interviews in Israel
- Help in connecting with relevant contacts at the Weizmann Institute of Science
The award is to supplement the fellowship funds the scientist is already receiving from their overseas postdoctoral research institution. The award cannot be deducted from a salary or other fellowship.
A second year of funding is contingent upon the recipient’s continuation of postdoctoral research and submission of progress reports.
Winners will be announced by the end of August 2022.
